Did anyone else get the practical joke played on them by wordpress for April Fools day?
I had a guest post on http://schizophrenicwriter.wordpress.com/ on “Putting Humor in Your Writing”. I had hoped for a rise in readers but imagine my surprise when the statistics showed over 150 more than usual?
Then I clicked on the column and it said April Fools!
Fitting isn’t it?

What are some of the jokes you saw or played?

Check the numbers – you may find they are valid. I had the same thing,. However, the numbers are, in fact, correct and the bar now simply says April 1.
My opinion?: If it was not an accurate count, they would have changed the to the correct number.

Several folks reported the same thing . . . including Paula and Tilly Bud. WP played an AFD’s joke on bloggers. 🙂
Last year, I did a contest on SLTW for AFD. If you’re interested:

That’s an interesting bunch of blog posts. Will look more thoroughly when I have more time. Am pressed this morning because we’re going to see brother sing at Shenandoah University Conservatory. He’s with the Masterworks Chorus. Thanks for the link. 🙂

The only ones I saw were the upside down and sideways pages printed by the local newspaper. Even my normally playful sweetie didn’t pull any pranks.
Wishing you all those new followers in the future.

Thanks for the good wishes, Bobbi. I think a better title and the better use of blank space would have helped. Too bad the email didn’t forward it exactly the way I had written it.Found out yesterday that my step daughter self published a children’s story, “I don’t want to be a Mom today.” You can buy at aRRtwork.com/mom/ or Amazon.

Thanks for the reference to my post, Clar!
We don’t do any pranks at home, I save it for work. I expect as the kids get older they’ll gang up on us to make us feel silly.
My wordpress graph showed a huge number, but when I hovered my mouse over the bar graph, it noted, “April Fools” and displayed the correct number of visits (which was nowhere near 557!) Too funny 🙂
