OK. Out of desperation I am asking for help in picking out my author photo. To me there is something wrong with each one and none are perfect. Will you just help me? Pick the one you think best and tell me in the comments. I’ll really appreciate it.
The publisher wants it to go on the back cover of my book and I need it for my web page. There’s so much pressure I couldn’t relax and smile right. And all we have is a camera from Walmart.
I bet you didn’t know I could complain like this. huh? Well now you know who I am. lol.
Thanks for being honest. If none of these work at all. We’ll just take more. (I hope my husband will take more) He’s been a good sport so far. Actually he’s fantastic. *Yay!* for good husbands. *Yay!* for good support. Thanks Ya’ll..
( also I am terrible at putting more than one image on this post at a time. They just don’t come out like I want. Once they disappeared all together.)
I like the third one best. The glare on your glasses is minor, and if you have Windows Media and your camera is digital, you might be able to erase those. The flaws of the other two are more obvious and can’t be fixed. I know how hard it is to get a decent photo when the pressure is on. When I had mine done for my first book I had over 40 professional shots done and still had to “settle” for one I wasn’t thrilled with!

Thanks for your opinion, Dawn. I’ll ask if my husband can tinker with it and fix the glare. He’s looking for Windows Media now. I appreciate your tips on how to fix the glare. We’ll work on it. 🙂

Oops, the pictures are in a different order here than they were on my email so to clarify I like the one in the green sweater with the glasses!

I agree with the rest….. Good on you for making your own observations clear! The one with you and your glass is by far the most natural, and one I’d love to keep…

Like the picture of you in the green sweater. But, I really ove your blog post picture — it is so perky!

I appreciate your opinion, Patricia but I think that photo is a little “too perky”. My smile too wide. Guess I’m hard to please. Thanks for visiting and commenting. 🙂

Of the three, I think the best picture of you is the first one (without glasses). However, for an “author’s head shot”, the third one (light in my glasses) if you can clean out the glare would be the best book jacket photo.

Thanks for your vote, Rick. I appreciate your opinion and I think we’re getting the glare out by gsprendergast up above. Isn’t he nice! We’ll see how it looks soon. 🙂

It’s all about retouching with photos. My husband just got professional pictures completed and he had them touched up.
It’s also about being relaxed. I also like photo # 3. The light on the glasses can be fixed.
Good luck 🙂

The one with light in the glasses. I’ll bet you can fix that on photo shop or a similar program.
