It’ s almost here! Susan and mine virtual blog tour. What is it? Google says:
“A blog tour is when an author is “sent” to various blogs that have accepted or even welcomed the author to the blog to do a guest post or answer questions. You might have anywhere from 5-15 stops on the tour (it really varies).”
“A book blog tour is a virtual tour to help an author promote their book without traveling. It’s the same concept as going to a store or event signings but instead of …”
So we arranged it with our friends. Our wonderful friends who I am going to explain below. But first I want to thank them. Not only are they giving us time on their blogs they are giving us their readers and spreading the word about our wonderful picture book, Edmund Pickle Chin, a Donkey Rescue Story, This picture book for ages four to eight is about how an abused donkey learns how to trust and be a help on the farm.
Our Edmund PIckle Chin, A Donkey Rescue Story is starting the tour May 26 at Joanna Marples blog with the most serious aspect of the book, abuse and mistreatment of animals. And when you talk about mistreatment of animals it’s an easy step to take to talk about bullying. Co-author Susan April Elwood wrote a fantastic post on this subject trying not to scare away readers. Edmund PIckle Chin is after all a picture book geared toward kids and we want kids to enjoy this book and see that there are happy endings.
Our next stop is May 29, thursday at Stacy Jensen’s blog with a fun co-author interview about how we wrote the picture book together. How did Susan and I collaborate? You’ll find out during the post.
May 30 is Perfect Picture Book Friday and Vivian KIrkfield is writing a review on Edmund PIckle Chin, A Donkey Rescue Story for Susanna Leonard HIll’s blog hop and web site. Then she’ll post the review on the eTreaures Site and finally on Amazon when it becomes available in that format.
Then as we skip into June and hopefully a print copy of our book that we can offer as a giveaway we start with a post on Monday June 2 over at Erik’s , the kid who reviews books. He has asked us co-authors, Susan April Elwood and Clara Bowman-Jahn, questions in an interview style that will appear on his blog that day.
June 4th, a Wednesday gives us a humorous look at how Edmund the donkey might answer questions about his life as ambassador of Evermay farm and how he feels about Susan, his caregiver singing to him over at Patricia Tilton’s blog. This is one you must not miss. I read it and laughed my head off! 🙂 As well as I thought I knew Edmund he gave me terrific surprises.
Our last post on this blog tour is over at Susanna Leonard HIll’s blog with what we hope to accomplish with this book and what a teacher may want to know in a type of guide. Edmund Pickle Chin is packed with opportunities for teachers in all the grades of elementary school but especially kindergarten through third grade. Susan wrote a detailed post on what teachers can offer their students with this book. And what Susan and Clara can offer when they are invited to schools to do a talk.
So Friends! There you have where we will be for the next three weeks. On tour. I hope you will follow along because there are prizes to be had. You can win a copy of both my picture books, “Annie’s Special Day’ and “Edmund PIckle Chin”. Or if you are less adventurous just a copy of Edmund for second place and if you win third place an e copy of “Edmund Pickle Chin”. These prizes are won just by following the blogs and commenting. The person with the most comments wins first place and so on. I really hope to see you on tour with us.
I’m going to be talking about the tour the next several Tuesdays but I’ll still be here on Friday with a Perfect Picture Book Friday selection. Hope to see you here!!
