Chocolate Cake for Breakfast Anyone!

Hi Friends!

Here are my gifts for those of you trying to get more twitter followers:

http://www.kseniaanske.com/blog/2013/5/1/my-twitter-routine-or-how-i-got-44000-followers.html

Ksenia gets up with Twitter on her mind and does it right before she falls asleep and she’s funny!

It takes a phone, though. I just have a laptop. I’m a boomer without the fancy stuff. I like to read books and hardly ever pick up my Nook but got a Kindle for my birthday. I LOVE it!  Amazon and used book stores are my friends.

And a blog featuring me! Yes another, from this summer. By J. D. Pooker of eTp. Or Pembrook as she is known in some circles.   *Oh *yay!* Heaps of *OH! *Yay!*

Yes, as I write this it is still during my break. No, I haven’t written my memoir. Hope none of you were holding your breath. I did, however, write six or seven new drafts for picture books and revised many of them AND they are ready to send off to agents or publishers. I’m soo happy with them!!

Is it too queer to fall in love with one’s own writing? I am just so proud of my manuscripts. I love all my ideas and the way I showed the themes are also a point of pride. I just have learned so much since my first one of “Annie’s Special Day.” And guess what?

My second book, co authored with a good friend of mine, Susan April Elwood will be coming out next summer!! *YaY!* It is called Edmund Pickle Chin, a Donkey Rescue Story, about a donkey, naturally, who was rescued after being abused and learns to trust his caregiver, Susan. Can you see it? The story? The donkey is called Pickle Chin because of his whiskers coming out and making his chin look like a pickle. It is one of Susan’s pet names for him. IF I continue you’ll have the whole story out of me and I don’t want to do that and spoil the surprise. It’s by the same publishing house as “Annie’s Special Day,” eTreasuresPublishing.  It is just such a pleasure doing business with them.

So you see, I HAVE been busy. I’ve taken part in two events. In July there was wow-nonfiction week,  where I wrote three nonfiction manuscripts and one fiction based on memoir. There was write on con,  in August where Danielle Smith of Foreword Literary  asked to see my other work and asked for a full manuscript based on my query critique of one of my picture book manuscripts. So you know I got right on that.  And the whole time, my husband was in Germany. As everyone knows I can’t do anything without him. Although I did that week. I even organized and held a writer’s retreat on that Friday.

And I just realized I missed a class on memoir writing. I am so preoccupied by the news of strikes on Syria. I totally forgot.

So now do you think I feel guilty?

How was your summer?

  1. What a busy time you’ve had. Congratulations on your book collaboration! Finding the right person is so important and it must have worked well. You’ve also been very productive with so many MS out to agents. You’re on a roll. Hope Annie is doing well too! My great granddaughter enjoyed your book.

It helps immeasurably to be in love with your work … it’s when love becomes an obsession that we’re in trouble.

Ha! Erik! Still not as much as you. I’m glad we are not competing! Like I said earlier I”d like to be one of your super men who could accomplish a lot more.

I wish I had a day stretcher that made the day last longer and there by give me more time to get stuff done.

Not to mean I don’t like the nice words from you. I do. ha ha. There’s so much more to do. 🙂 I guess I need to organize my time better so I could get it all done. 🙂
